What does it mean to trust in the Lord?
How easy it is for us as Christians to say that we trust God, or to encourage others to do so when they are in the midst of tribulation. Though it is right for us to do so, it is not until we are faced with a storm of our own that we realize the true meaning of our words.
Yes, it is easy to say we trust in God, but to act upon that trust and have faith that He has everything under control can be a trial all on its own. We have to fight the fleshly desire to take matters into our own hands or to place request after request for God to move when we want Him to in the way we want Him to. We must remember that His timing is perfect and His ways are not our ways.
Let us not put our hope in a situation to come to pass like we think it should, or a person to do what we think they should, but instead let us put our hope in God and trust Him to work His perfect will in our lives for only He knows what is truly best for us.
“Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.” -Psalms 20:7
